Will Brady Bring His Magic to Tampa?

The illustrious career of NFL quarterback Tom Brady has been directly tied to the success of the New England Patriots longstanding dynasty since they drafted him in 2000. Now, the former Michigan quarterback is now a former New England quarterback, who will be bringing his all-time Super Bowl experience to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In 20 seasons with the Patriots, Brady was in the Super Bowl for nearly half of them. Nine appearances for Brady and the Patriots over the years turned into six Super Bowl wins, which are both all-time records for quarterbacks by a wide margin. The next quarterback on the list is John Elway, who appeared in five Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and managed to win two. Two other quarterback greats – Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana – are undefeated in their four Super Bowl appearances and are tied for second-most wins behind Brady.

Many questions surround why Brady decided to leave the Patriots. Some believe he wasn’t offered an optimal new contract by the organization due to the quarterback’s rising age (42) and potentially declining abilities. Regardless, Brady has an enormous chance to prove his skill wasn’t entirely aided by the Patriots organization during all those Super Bowl victories. He will now be leading a team known to be near the bottom of the league year after year.
