The Biggest Sports Stadiums In The World

Over the next couple of weeks, the major European soccer leagues will get the new season started, beginning with the Premier League in England this weekend. Even though many people in UK consider the Premier League the best league in the world, none of its stadiums are among the largest. In fact, the United States is home to the majority of capacious sports grounds with eight of the world’s top ten biggest scattered around the country, according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph.

They include the gargantuan Michigan stadium in Ann Arbor which boasts a capacity of 113,000, the Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania with nearly 111,000 and the Ohio Stadium in Columbus with 105,000. The stadium with the largest capacity anywhere on the planet is actually in Pyongyang, North Korea. Stretched out over 20.7 hectares and boasting a mammoth capacity of 114,000, the Rungrado 1st of May Stadium plays host to soccer matches but most often the mass games of the Arirang Festival.
