This time last season in the Premier League, Man City were two points clear at the top of the table, with Chelsea and Liverpool only separated by goal difference below them. While Chelsea’s title bid would drop off, it remained a close fight between City and Liverpool over the remainder of the season, with City emerging eventual winners by just one point.
This season though, City have already blinked three times, registering two losses and a draw to put them six points behind a Liverpool with only one blemish on their record so far – a draw at Man Utd. Speaking of the Red Devils, United are languishing in 10th place – three places below their position at this stage last season, and closer to the bottom of the table points-wise than they are to the top of it.
