Fans An Afterthought In European Final Ticket Allocation

Source: Statista

After some incredible late drama and an outpouring of emotion throughout the week, the Champions League and Europa League finals will be all-English affairs for the very first time. In fact, it is the first time that all four finalists in Europe’s top two competitions will come from the same nation. Despite the elation among supporters of all four teams, there is a growing sense of bitterness and frustration regarding Uefa’s ticket allocation for both finals, according to The Guardian.

Even though the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid has a capacity of 68,000, Liverpool and Tottenham have only been allocated 16,613 tickets each for the Champions League final on June 1st. The situation is even worse for Arsenal and Chelsea fans. Arsenal have been informed by Uefa that they are receiving 6,000 tickets for the match while Chelsea are getting 5,801. That’s despite the Olympic Stadium in Baku also boasting a substantial capacity of 68,700.
