Today’s Fan Channel Focus is The West Ham Way, a West Ham YouTube channel.
In 2012, ExWHUEmployee created an account as a dare to prove to his mate that he could be more reliable than anyone with news on the club because of his various sources. His reliability was quickly noticed and his following started to rapidly increase as he began to be recognised as the most reliable ITK out there.
As a result of his accuracy, he started to write for a number of West Ham related websites and was even approached to write for national newspapers such as The Sun, The Mirror, The Metro and the Standard. It was from this that he decided to create the West Ham Way website.
In 2016, the West Ham Way Podcast was launched with his close friend Dave Walker and the following year saw the birth of the West Ham Way pre match event, both of which are extremely successful.
Dave Walker arrived on the scene with his creation of the popular online Fanzine “Sex, Drugs & Carlton Cole”. After creating some impressive content, Ex asked to meet him at the Queens pub on Green Street with a view of collaborating. They went on to form a close relationship and Dave eventually became an equal partner in the West Ham Way brand.
Dave is the host and the producer of The West Ham Way Podcast and the co-creator of the West Ham Way pre match event in Leytonstone. In 2019 the pre match event was taken to Las Vegas and prior to Covid-19 was also due to take place in Brisbane and Los Angeles for overseas Hammers.
After West Ham were the first team to beat Tottenham at the new White Hart Lane, Dave caused a stir when he released a Spoof video of Harry Kane which went viral, accumulating over 8 million views and giving our fans a laugh in the process! He has also worked with the likes of Sky Sports, BT Sport, ESPN, TalkSport, BBC 5 Live and overseas media outlets for punditry and presenting.
